COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Commissioners formally approved a bid of just under $1.1 million from Kalleward Group of Kalamazoo Tuesday afternoon to be the contractors for the renovation of all three Branch County courtrooms later this year.
The winning bid did not include furnishings or technology improvements and Branch County Administrator Frank Walsh said once again a tight eye will be kept on the project’s budget.
He said the timeline calls for the work to start in the Probate Court followed by the District and Circuit Courts.
A second bid of over $62,000 for the HVAC unit at the Health Department will be addressed during the Commissioners next work session May 22.
In other business, the Commissioners agreed to move with the purchase of a sign for the Health Department at a cost not to exceed $1,196. A quote has been obtained from Michigan Graphics for a new metal sign that will fit the brick structure which is now in place.
