COLDWATER, MI (WTVB)- Memorial Day weekend is traditionally the unofficial start of the summer season and Coldwater, Quincy, Bronson and Union City will hold parades and other activities on Monday May 26th.
In Coldwater The annual Memorial Day service ill begin at 10 a.m. at the Four Corners, the parade will start at 10:30 with the bridge wreath laying ceremony once the parade finishes.
At 11 a.m. there will be a service at the new (South) Cemetery with the gathering of flags and war memorial service. The day will be capped off with lunch at the American Legion.
In Quincy, The parade will begin at 11 a.m. in the Legion parking lot and travel down West Chicago to West Street and end with a service at Lakeview Cemetery.
Union City’s parade will start at 10:30 a.m. from Union City High School and proceed through downtown to Riverside Cemetery.
Bronson American Legion will have it’s Memorial Day service at the Bronson Cemetery at 10 a.m., Randy’s Famous Breakfast will be at the First United Methodist Church prior to the service from 7:30-9:30 prior to the Memorial Day Service.
Just as a reminder in Coldwater and Quincy US-12 and several surrounding streets will be temporarily closed on Monday.
