Martha M. “Marty” Stetler, 82, of Coldwater passed away Thursday, May 22, 2025 at her home.
A service will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Lockwood Community Church with Pastor Kevin Looper officiating.
A visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Lockwood Community Church.
Martha was born August 2, 1942, to Fred and Ilah (Hayes) Pifer in Coldwater. She married Marvin R. Stetler September 12, 1970, in Montgomery, MI.
Marty worked at Quality Springs for 7 years, and the Coldwater State Home for 22 years, retiring in 1991. She was an active member at Lockwood Community Church, the VFW Post in Sylvania, OH, and 4-H. Marty also volunteered at Maple Lawn bringing water to the residents.
She enjoyed fishing, camping, and attending the races at Butler Motor Speedway. Most of all Marty enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, providing them daycare throughout the years.
Martha is survived by her loving husband, Marvin Stetler of Coldwater; her children Kelli (Chad) Nettleman of Coldwater, Fred (Andrea) Stetler of Quincy; her siblings Bob (Stella) Pifer of Coldwater, Linda (Rick) Hooker of Coldwater; her grandchildren Damion Nettleman, Max Stetler, Connor Stetler; many nieces and nephews; and special friends Audrey Taylor, Connie Cox, Becky and Joe Smotherman, and “Dan the Man.”
Martha was preceded in death by her siblings Bill Pifer, Ed Pifer, Margaret Snyder, and Lowell Pifer.
