Barbara was born October 9, 1943 in Centreville, Michigan, to Charles S. and Genevieve (Albright) Rzepka. September 28, 1963, Barbara married her high school sweetheart, Daniel Junker, in Bronson. They shared 54 loving years together until his passing in 2018.
Barbara worked as a Customer Sales Officer at Southern Michigan Bank & Trust in Coldwater for 24 years before retiring in 2002.
A devoted Catholic, she and Daniel were longtime members of St. Mary’s Assumption Catholic Church, where she was active in the Rosary Society. She also served on the Bronson Board of Education for eight years and participated in the Child Study Mother’s Club.
Barbara had many passions, including flower gardening, reading, and baking—well known for her delicious candies and cakes. She loved her pets and enjoyed traveling with Daniel in their motor home to their winter home in Brownsville, Texas. In Dan’s final years, she cared for him with unwavering devotion.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Deacon John, Fr. Siby, Janet Cox, and the compassionate team at Elara Caring Hospice, especially nurses Jennifer, Danielle, and TJ, for their care and support during Barbara’s final days.
Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Daniel Junker, loving mother of Christina (John) Petry and Paul Junker, proud grandmother of Kelsey (John) Wohlgemuth and Benjamin Petry, dearest sister of Edward Rzepka and Anthony (Kate Bercaw) Rzepka, and sister-in-law of Michael (Marcia) Poling and Phyllis (the late Larry) Youse.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Barbara’s name may be directed to St. Mary’s Assumption School Roof and Boiler Repair Fund, the Humane Society of Branch County, or Elara Caring Hospice.
