Larry Lee Sielken, 86 of Coldwater, passed away Friday, May 30, 2025 at Insight Hospital and Medical Center Coldwater.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Dan Hyman officiating. Interment will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater, MI.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 2, 2025 from 4:00-7:00 p.m., with the rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Larry was born December 11, 1938 to Albert and Elizabeth (Ludwick) Sielken in Sturgis, MI.
He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era where he was stationed in Korea. Upon returning home, Larry married Mary Hurley on May 4, 1963 in Coldwater, MI and they moved to Maryland, where he completed his military service at Fort Meade.
Larry led a fulfilling and dedicated career with Allstate Insurance for 31 years. After retirement, Larry and Mary spent 26 years snowbirding at the Harbor Isles Condo Association in Northport, FL. Deeply valuing his faith, he was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Coldwater, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bronson, and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Venice, FL.
Larry’s service further extended to his community as he was also a member of the Coldwater American Legion, Coldwater Exchange Club where he was a past president, the Coldwater Knights of Columbus, and the Elks Lodge 2606 in Punta Gorda, FL.
Larry knew to also appreciate the many joys he had in life; buying, selling, and restoring cars was a true passion of his along with fishing, boating, golfing, bowling, playing cards, and traveling – especially cruises. Above all else, Larry was a devoted family man that cherished and loved the time and many memories he shared and made with his beloved family.
In addition to his wife, Mary, of 62 years, Larry leaves behind his children Bryan (Tammie) Sielken, Renee (Brian) Hodson both of Coldwater, Nicole (Ryan) Lemon of Ypsilanti, MI; his siblings Terry Sielken of Ft. Thomas, KY, Jerry (Bernie) Sielken of Waianae, HI, Gary Sielken and Debbie Fergeson both of Bronson; his grandchildren Kalee (Glenn) Raymond, Kelsee (Sean) Guzy, Kameron (Preslie) Sielken, Austin Hodson, Aubrey (Jason) Brantley, Quinlan Lemon; his great grandchildren Owen, Everett, Ellery, Bryar, Ivy, Wren, Laine, Charlotte; his many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and his dog Sara Lee.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Dennis Sielken, his granddaughter Alysha Sielken, and his father and mother-in-law Paul and Aileen Hurley.
