FREMONT, IN (WTVB) – Some Branch County residents have been heading south to fill up in recent days as gas is much cheaper just over the Michigan-Indiana state line.
Several stations in the Fremont and Angola area are now selling gas for $2.13 a gallon. That’s over 30 cents cheaper than stations around Coldwater where gas is selling for about $2.45.
AAA Michigan says the average price for gas has gone down this week in Michigan to $2.40 but that’s still 62 cents more than this time last year.
Spotters for the web site www.gasbuddy.com found prices between $2.01 and $2.05 in the Detroit area and as low as $2.10 in South Haven.
