DURHAM, NC (WTVB) – A Union City High School graduate has his team one win away from a berth in the NCAA College Baseball World Series.
Dan Skirka has been coach at Murray State in Murray, Kentucky for the past seven years.
Duke and Murray State play Game 3 of the 2025 NCAA Tournament’s Durham Super Regional tonight at 7:00 p.m.
The Blue Devils (41-20) and Racers (43-15) split the first two games in the best-of-three series at the Durham Super Regional. The game will be televised on ESPN and can be streamed on ESPN+.
Murray State, which is making its debut in the Super Regional round, is trying to clinch its first trip to the College World Series.
In addition to other coaching stints, Skirka had four successful seasons at Walters State Community College in Morristown, Tennessee, where he was recruiting coordinator and helped Walters to the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) World Series championship game in 2018 and finished with a record of 60-8.
