COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A former Coldwater man who was charged in connection with an August home invasion in Quincy was sentenced on Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.
21-year-old Jerry Wayne Goodlett of Nashville, Michigan was given a one year jail sentence with all time over eight months suspended after he entered guilty pleas to carrying a concealed weapon and assault with a weapon.
Goodlett was given credit for 151 days already served and was placed on probation for 18 months.
A charge of First Degree Home Invasion and two weapons counts were dismissed by prosecutors in exchange for the guilty pleas. A driving while license was suspended case in Branch County District Court was also dismissed.
Michigan State Police said in court documents that Goodlett pointed a weapon at the occupant of a home after entering without permission.
