COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Tibbits Opera House is seeking volunteers for the current summer theatre season as well as community rentals and other events at the historic location, and they will be hosting a volunteer training and appreciation ice cream social this afternoon.
The event begins today at 5:00 p.m. in the art gallery downstairs at the theatre.
“Volunteers are the most valuable asset we have here at Tibbits,” said Executive Director Christine Delaney. “Events like this are an opportunity to say thank you to our dedicated volunteers and also invite others to join in the experience.”
Volunteers help with ushering, tasks in the administrative office, plant and care for the garden outside the theatre, work behind the bar for shows and events, help in the box office, assist with the theatre’s youth programs, and more. Those assisting as ushers also get to see the shows for which they are working.
Those interested in volunteering for Tibbits must be 18 years of age or older. Prospective volunteers can call the Tibbits Administrative Office at 278-6029 or fill out an interest form online at Tibbits.org. Volunteer information can be found under the “Get Involved” option on the Tibbits homepage.
