CLINTON, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater finished fourth at the Dave Elliott Memorial wrestling tournament at Clinton Saturday.
The Cardinals had 12 wrestlers place. Sam DeMeester won the 171 pound title while Zach Miller was second.
Third place finishers were Hamza Muflihi at 112, Faheem Abdullah at 125 and Daniel Pino at 130.
Finishing fourth in their weight classes were Shihab Abdulrab, Ezra Lewis, Griffen Olmstead and Clark Cole. Matt Gipple and Zach Gipple were fifth while Carter Hoard was sixth,
The Cardinals return to action Wednesday at Marshall in a I-8 quad meet with Western and Pennfield.
Meantime, Union City won their own Paul Smeltzer Memorial Invitational. The Chargers finished first with 145 points followed by Olivet with 141 1/2 and Athens with 140.
Union City champions were Jacob Todd at 152, Colton Johns at 160 and Brayton Burgett at 285.
