COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – While Utility Financial Solutions determined the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities does not need an increase in electrical rates this year, the CBPU Board of Trustees slightly modified the utility’s Power Supply Cost Adjustment Wednesday night to seven cents per kilowatt hour due to recurring power supply cost increases and future projections.
CBPU Director Paul Jakubczak says this will have little if any impact on a customer’s bill.
The proposed rate adjustments now move on to the July 14 City Council meeting. If approved, these proposed changes are scheduled to take effect September 1, 2025.
In other business, the Board decided to keep the same slate of officers for the next year. Chris Stevens will remain as the President while Scott Ohm will be the Vice President and Nikki Luce will be the secretary.
They also agreed to continue meeting on the first Wednesday of the month at 5:00 p.m. for the next year.
