COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After some major accomplishments downtown the past few years, the Executive Director of Coldwater Main Street and the Branch County Economic Growth Alliance is taking a new role with the City of Grand Rapids.
Audrey Tappenden announced late last week she is stepping down, effective July 17.
In her letter of resignation to the Coldwater Downtown Development Authority Board, she cited a number of highlights for the city, including the relocation and expansion of the Children’s Museum of Branch County downtown, $99,800 in Match on Main and Optimize Main Street Tech Grants, $90,000 in grant funding secured for facade restoration and public art initiatives, $1.6 million in Michigan Economic Development Corporation grants for major building renovation projects on Marshall, Pearl, and Monroe streets, and 12 new public artworks in downtown.
