She was born January 6, 1937 to Howard and Erma (Turner) Yoder in Lansing, MI. March 3, 1956 Barbara married Robert E. Soos in East Lansing, MI and he survives.
Barb worked alongside her husband Bob for many years with the family business, Bob Soos Company, until her retirement. As a young girl, she became a dedicated member of the Girl Scouts of America. This led to her lifelong involvement with the Girl Scouts where she served as a compassionate leader that influenced many people over several generations.
Barb was talented at sewing, knitting, crocheting and held a passion for traveling, especially to their family cottage at Marble Lake where many memories were made and shared.
Her generous and loving heart was known to many, but none better than by her family that she cherished above all else. Barabara always took care of her entire family and as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother she was second to none.
In addition to her husband of nearly 70 years, Bob Soos of Coldwater, Barbara leaves behind her children Sallie (Tim) Tallon of Kalamazoo, MI, Kathie Bishop of Middleville, MI, Jeannie (Michael) Martell of Mt. Vernon, TX, Robert (Melanie) Soos of Gypsum, CO; her grandchildren Melissa Tallon, Allison (Corey Lehman) Tallon, Ryan Tallon, Robert Bishop, Brian (Sarah) Bishop, Kevin Bishop, Eric (Jessica) Johnson, Philip (Morgan) Johnson, Garrett Martell, Erin Martell, Elsa Martell, Ian Soos, Colin Soos; her great grandchildren Adeline, Brighton, Hadley, Isla, Layla, Emmett, Calliope, Finnegan, Elliott, Remy, Maesyn, Bennett, Teagan; her many loving nieces and nephews; and special family friends Sharon Rice, Jan Chance, Jeff Watson, Mike Watson, Steve Watson, and Forrest Watson.
