Shirley Byers, 85, of Coldwater passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025 at LakeHouse Assisted Living.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home.
Shirley was born August 17, 1939 in Coldwater, MI. She married Richard Byers January 25, 1958 in Coldwater Michigan. He preceded her in death January 29, 1997.
Shirley was a cashier at many different stores, including Parkside Pharmacy and Walmart in Coldwater. She retired from Walmart in 2017.
Every week, Shirley would look forward to meeting with the Coldwater TOPS ladies to have lunch and socialize. She was known as a “people person” and loved to spend time with her friends and family.
Shirley is survived by her children, Joy (Lon) Newby of Battle Creek, Tim (Angie) Byers of Traverse City, Faith (Willard) Merchant of Jerome, Grace (John) Waddell of Middleville, MI; her grandchildren Heather, Amanda, Bradley, Nick, Eric, Daniel, and Derek; and her 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Esther (Mitchell) Lindsey.
