QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Village of Quincy has a new permanent village manager.
Ryan Smead, who also served on the village council, took over the village managers role on interim basis after Brittany Butler resigned in March. He was hired from a pool of seven candidates. The other six were from out of state.

The council and Smead agreed to a one year contract with a salary of $72,000. After accepting the position Smead resigned his council seat.
Smead is a 2005 graduate of Quincy High School. He earned a bachelors degree with a major in business administration from Northwestern Ohio University, and has over 20 years experience property management and maintenance.
Butler has continued to serve the manager’s office as an advisor during the transition.
