QUINCY, MI ( WTVB) – A weekend theft in Quincy has turned into a multiple jurisdiction investigation.
Quincy Police are asking for help in finding a suspect involved in a theft near a cell tower. Police Chief Dalton Turmell says Sometime between 2-3 a.m. Sunday, someone cut a hole in the fence near a Verizon cell phone tower at the Village office and took multiple items. Specifically, a spool of copper wire, harnesses, ropes and more job-specific tools that belonged a company based out of Illinois.
Turmell says the suspect had cut a hole through the village’s fence in order to gain access to the company’s equipment.
The Chief says copper theft has been a major issue for years.

Multiple agencies are now assisting Quincy Police in the investigation including Coldwater Police, Battle Creek Police, Michigan State Police Marshall Post.
