COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Board of Directors approved a bid of just over $59,000 from Cole Construction for the building of an addition onto the utility’s pole barn off of Jay Street on Tuesday night.
CBPU Director Jeff Budd said the Water Resource Recovery Facility and Electric Department needed additional storage space so the staff recommended building a 30 x 48 x 16 addition.
Budd said the building will primarily be used to house the new three reel turret wire trailer and a backhoe. The building will also be used for various other storage needs.
Cole Construction had the lowest of the four bids that were submitted for the project.
In addition, Budd reported the recent testing of their drinking water by the Michigan Department of Enviromental Quality for PFAS contamination returned a non-detect level.
Tuesday’s meeting was also the last for Dr. David Rubley as he is retiring from the board at the end of the year.
