COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Michigan State Police say a Bronson man is a suspect in the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year old girl from Girard Township. 27-year old Richard John Terlizzi was arrested early Tuesday and arraigned yesterday in Branch County District Court. Troopers say the incident occurred in late August. 2018.
According to State Police, the victim told her mother she was assaulted and her mom right away took the girl to be examined at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital, which then notified authorities.
Troopers say the suspect and a girlfriend of the mother were living at the residence in Girard Township because of financial hardships faced by Terlizzi. State Police say the other people in the home were sleeping when the alleged attack on the girl happened.
Terlizzi was arraigned on one count of third degree criminal sexual. His bond was set at $100,000 with a District Court probable cause hearing set for December 27, 2018.
