COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Little River Railroad is set to host their 20th anniversary celebration this weekend at their depot located at 29 West Park Avenue in Coldwater.
The festivities will take place Saturday and Sunday. As you might expect steam train rides will be available with tickets for both days available on the railroads website, but tickets for Sunday rides are limited, they will also have food vendors, and other family activities such as a bounce house and crank train.
Sunday will also feature a special guest in the form of FWRHS Nickle Plate Road No. 765. The Historic steam locomotive No. 765 is a high-stepping, fourteen-wheeled, time machine that stands 15 feet tall, weighs 404 tons and can go over 70 miles an hour. It was one of famous class of steam locomotives called the Berkshire; known for its “superpower” technology and aesthetic charm.

The grounds to the depot will be open both Saturday and Sunday from 9-5.
The City of Coldwater has also announced that South Clay Street will be closed from West Park Avenue to Industrial Avenue during the celebration to assure public safety during the event.
