COLDWATER LAKE, MI (WTVB) – Fire crews from Lakeland along with Coldwater and Fremont were called out to a structure fire on Coldwater Lake just before 4 a.m. this morning.
When the first crews from Lakeland arrived on the scene at 700 Lake Drive, they reported a detached garage fully engulfed in flames and that the fire had spread to the home.
Although no exact cause has been released, it’s believed that staining materials being stored in the detached garage may have spontaneously combusted due to the heat and humidity.
Crews were on the scene for several hours, there were no reports of injuries, no dollar amount was placed on the loss but the garage and it’s contents were a complete loss. The home was just purchased in 2024 for $1.2 million dollars.
