COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners brought forward a request from the Veterans Affairs office during a brief work session on Friday morning to sell a 2016 Ford Transit Van to Cole Ford Lincoln for $12,500.
A majority of the V.A. Board voted on Wednesday to sell the van.
Branch County Veterans Affairs Director and Counselor Nick Easterling told Commissioners he is not looking to replace that vehicle and that they will use the money from the sale for their constituents.
Currently, the Branch County V.A. office has four vehicles. Formal action is expected during the Commissioners regular meeting on August 12.
In other business, the Commissioners brought forward a revised 2026 holiday schedule after they approved a request from Administrator Frank Walsh to eliminate the use of furlough days. It eliminates January 2 as a furlough day which was the only one planned for 2026.
The work session was originally scheduled for next Thursday but Commissioners moved it up to Friday morning due to next week’s Branch County Fair.

Why isn’t this being offered to the public as it LEGALLY should be?
