GIRARD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Tuesday morning was one of those “when it rains, it pours” mornings for the Coldwater Fire Department.
Not only was a department “all call” issued for a traffic accident on U.S. 12 west of Coldwater, firefighters were dispatched just before 6:00 a.m. to a grain dryer fire at 595 East Girard Road.
The farmer shut down the dryer and gas to the machine before units arrived. The fire was quickly put out and crews helped clear the dryer of the burnt product. The grain dryer suffered no damage from the fire, which was caused by a build up of corn.
