COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater City Council approved the next step Monday night which officials hope will lead to the Establishment of a Residential City Sidewalk Maintenance and Improvement Program.
The program, which would consist of special assessments over 10 years, is scheduled to begin in the winter of 2026 tax collection.
Neighborhood Services Director and City Assessor Samantha Albright said Monday’s approval of a proposed resolution which determined that the project is necessary was the second of four steps that need to be taken.
Albright said the second resolution also establishes a formula for the affected property owners.
A third public hearing at which the preliminary assessment roll will be reviewed is scheduled to take place during the Council’s next meeting on August 25, 2025.
