COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A preliminary engineering contract for the U.S. 12 Downtown Coldwater Streetscape Project was approved Monday night by the Coldwater City Council.
Spaulding DeDecker of Grand Rapids was awarded the contract after their bid of $40,560 was about $6,000 less than a bid submitted by Fishbeck Engineering of Lansing.
City Manager Keith Baker says part of the work involves traffic counts.
Intersect Studios has prepared a conceptual master plan and cost estimates for the work.
The City Council has pledged up to $2 million in accumulated fund balance towards the proposed project which would cover U.S. 12 between Jefferson and Clay Streets.
