MENDON TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The St Joseph County Sheriffs ‘Department says one person died as the result of a two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon.
Around 1:50 Friday afternoon deputies responded to the area of M-60 and M-66 in Mendon Township for a personal injury accident involving a semi and a county transportation van.
During the investigation, Deputies learned that a single female driver ran a stop sign and was hit by a
semi traveling eastbound. When Deputies arrived on scene, they located the driver of the transport van with life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced dead at the scene. She was identified as 36-year-old Beatrice Jones Taylor, from Three Rivers area.
It does not appear at this time that alcohol or speed was a factor.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Mendon Fire and Rescue, Life Care
Ambulance, Village of Mendon Police, Michigan State Police, and MDOT.
