PORTAGE, MI (WTVB) – The Union City cross country team opened its 2025 campaign Friday morning at the Portage Central Early Bird Meet. In a field filled with Division 1 and 2 schools, the Charger girls finished eleventh out of fifteen teams with 304 points, while the boys were fifteenth out of nineteen teams with 434 points.
Junior Allison Gautsche had the top time for the Lady Chargers; her time of 22:23.30 was good for 32nd place. Union City’s boys were led by junior Cullen Decker, who placed 72nd with a time of 19:10.58.
The Chargers will run at the Three Rivers Big Hill Invitational Tuesday afternoon.
