COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Donations from Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary and the Union City Rotary Club, along with a grant from Rotary District 6360, have been used to purchase a van for Tommy’s House in Coldwater, where rehabilitation is offered for female drug and alcohol offenders released from jail.
Keys for the van and a banner were presented to representatives of Tommy’s House at Thursday’s meeting of the Coldwater Township Sunrise Rotary Club.
The transitional housing for women opened in December of 2016 and is named after Tommy Olmstead, who serves as a volunteer chaplain at the Branch County Jail. The rehab program operates out of an older renovated 2 story home at 50 North Clay Street in Coldwater.
An open house at Tommy’s House will beh held Saturday, December 8 from 2:0-4:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
