QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Village Council filled an open seat on Tuesday night as they appointed Katie Hagaman to serve out Ryan Smead’s term.
Smead resigned recently from the Council to accept the Village Managers position. Hagaman was the only person to apply for the opening.
She will complete Smead’s term on the Council that is set to expire in November of 2026.
In other business, Smead read Quincy Police Chief Dalton Turmell’s report about the ongoing traffic issues at Jennings Elementary.
Turmell is asking Jennings parents to use Glenn Avenue to access Wood Avenue for drop-off and pick-up, rather than parking on Liberty Street west of Wood Avenue. Turmell feels this will help reduce congestion, especially near the intersection of Liberty Street and South Main.
