COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After scoring just over one minute into the game, the Coldwater High School boys varsity soccer team held on for a 3-1 non-conference win over Plainwell Monday night.
Liam Clark headed in the first goal off a corner kick from Austin Accardi with 38:54 to play in the first half.
Clark assisted on Coldwater’s second goal by Abdulhamid Munnasar with 23:17 to play in the second half, with Ahmed Norman scoring the third goal two minutes later, assisted by Nasser Abdullah.
Plainwell got their only goal with 17:33 to play.
The Trojans outshot Coldwater 11-9, with Franky Ramos making five saves in goal.
Coldwater improves to 2-3 on the season, and will host Edwardsburg in non-conference action Wednesday. The JV game will start at 4:00 p.m., with the varsity game at 5:30 p.m.
The Cardinal junior varsity team improved to 5-0 on the season by beating Plainwell 3-0, with two goals from Muthana Hajaji and one from Johan Aburto.
