ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – Two people were arrested in Angola over the weekend after police tracked down a truck that had been reported stolen.
Shortly after 2:00am on Sunday, Angola Police located the truck in the parking lot of the Shell gas station near North Wayne St. and Harcourt Rd.
The driver and occupant of the truck were being detained by Angola Police as Indiana State Police Troopers arrived on scene. During the investigation the driver gave false identifying information investigators.
An Indiana State Police K-9 was also on scene and alerted to an illegal substance in the vehicle. A probable cause search of the stolen truck yielded suspected marijuana. The passenger was also found to be in possession of illegal drugs as suspected methamphetamine was uncovered. After further investigation the driver was identified as 45-year-old Stephen Dunn of Silver Springs, Florida, and passenger was identified as 32-year-old Danni Nickols of Ashley.
Dunn was charged with Auto Theft a Level 6 Felony, Identity Deception, Level 6 Felony, False Identity Statement a Class A Misdemeanor, Possession of Marijuana a Class B Misdemeanor, Unauthorized Entry of Motor Vehicle a Class B Misdemeanor False Informing a Class B Misdemeanor, Possession of Paraphernalia a Class C Misdemeanor, and a Fugitive Warrant out of Florida
Nickols is was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine a Level 6 Felony, Possession of Marijuana a Class B Misdemeanor, and Possession of Paraphernalia a Class C Misdemeanor.
Both were lodged in the Steuben County jail.
