COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater Planning Commission approved the city’s five year recreation plan Monday night.
The 2019-2024 plan will serve as a guideline to improve recreation facilities and develop new recreational opportunities in the City of Coldwater.
City Planner Dean Walrack said the plan makes the city eligible for Michigan Department of Natural Resources grants.
There were nearly 400 respondents to a survey that was conducted this past summer. Walrack told the Planning Commission that the plan’s goals and objectives have been updated.
He noted there have been some big changes since the last recreation plan was put together such as the construction the Browne Aquatic Center and the new youth baseball fields at Heritage Park.
Michigan D.N.R. grants have been used in recent years for the expansion of the Coldwater Linear Park, the renovation of the Optimist Park playground and for the Heritage Park Splash Park.
