COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The weather conditions were not the best but the annual Coldwater Christmas Parade was still held Saturday night.
There were some questions about whether or not the Coldwater parade was going to be held after Hillsdale postponed their parade due to a weather forecast that called for rain and thunderstorms.
But organizers of the Coldwater parade decided to go forward. While there was a light rain and temperatures were near 40 degrees, the weather was not as dire as the National Weather Service had predicted.
The Transportation Department at Coldwater Community Schools earned the top prize in the float judging with their brightly lit school bus.
Second place went to the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities with their bucket truck that featured the Grinch. Third place went to the Odds and Ends 4-H Club.
World War Two veteran Jim Blanton was the Grand Marshall.
Over 30 units were in the 20 minute parade.
