COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – While some people have expressed their frustration about the number of empty storefronts in downtown Coldwater, others optimistically look at it as an opportunity for the city.
Branch County Economic Growth Alliance Executive Director Lisa Miller told the Downtown Development Authority Board of Directors Wednesday that recently hired consultant Tim Hart has been contacted by several prospects.
She did not identify anyone specifically.
Hart said there is a lot of excitement right now about the downtown but he acknowledged there is some frustration because of city ordinances that maybe outdated.
Hart reported the owners of Short’s Root Beer Stand have bought the Integrative Health Services building at 354 West Chicago and they are planning to operate a retail business there.
