EAST LANSING, MI (WTVB) – High school cross country teams from across the state, including Coldwater and Union City, competed in the annual MSU-Auto Owners Spartan Invitational Friday at Michigan State’s Forest Akers East Golf Course.
Bronze Division (Division 2)

Coldwater ran in the Bronze Division. The girls were 21st out of 31 teams with 537 points, while the boys finished 20th out of 35 teams with 511 points.
Sophomore Gwen Eby was the only Branch County runner to earn a medal on the day with her 13th place finish. Also for the Lady Cardinals, Morgan Baker finished 106th, Ellerie Bucklin 113rd, Miyah Moore 150th, and Olivia Golematis 155th.
For the Cardinal boys, Drew Vanderpuyl was 73rd, Sebastian Hernandez 77th, Luke Aerts 81st, Aiden Parker 138th, and Lucas Newberry 142nd.
White Division (Division 3 & 4)
Union City participated in the White Division. The girls finished 14th out of 30 teams with 397 points, while the boys were 15th out of 33 teams with 408 points.
For the Lady Chargers, Allison Gautsche was 41st, Parker Williams 47th, Carly Smith 83rd, Elizabeth Arlt 105th, and Mckenzie Hawks 121st.
For the Charger boys, Ben Gautsche finished 34th, Collen Decker 39th, Noah June 50th, Luke McKown 123rd, and Jack Dibert 162nd.
