PARIS (Reuters) – A stricter evening curfew will be imposed on the major southern French city of Marseille as part of government measures to curb the spread of the COVID-19 virus, BFM TV and France 3 Provence TV reported, citing the local government body.
Marseille will join other French cities such as Strasbourg and Dijon in having its curfew moved forward to 6 p.m. from 8 p.m. previously, and running through to 6 a.m. the following morning. The stricter Marseille curfew will start on Sunday evening.
For now, the curfew hours in Paris have not been changed, running from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., although the government has said it will not rule out imposing a stricter lockdown if the COVID-19 situation worsens in France.
