COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Coldwater man was arraigned Monday in Branch County District Court on domestic violence and felony assault charges. Coldwater City Police are investigating the case which resulted in the arrest of 19-year old Luis Martinez at his home on North Hudson Street early Monday morning.
Branch County 911 Central Dispatch reported that City Police were sent to the suspect’s home to check on a report of a disturbance that was called in shortly before midnight. A corrections officer at the County jail said the victim of the alleged assault was listed as the girlfriend of Martinez. He faces charges of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder and misdemeanor domestic violence.
The bond for Martinez was set at $20,000 and he’s due back in court for a probable cause hearing on November 27, 2018.
