COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Today is the day residents of Coldwater, Quincy and Bronson as well as several Townships in the county can dispose of hazardous waste and shred documents.
According to a community announcement, the City of Coldwater and the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities is hosting a combined Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day and Public Document Shredding Day from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Branch County Fairgrounds.
Residents can dispose of items such as aerosol cans, pesticides, medical sharps, oil, gasoline, fluorescent light bulbs and more. There are limitations on items that will be accepted such as ammunition, explosives, household trash and latex paint products.
In addition the the CBPU has partnered with Biz Aid LLC for electronic recycling at the event that will include electronic devices, including computers and batteries, $5 cash only co-pay is required for televisions and monitors.
While the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day is limited to residents of the participating communities, anyone can take part in the Public Document Shredding Day. Residents of Coldwater and CBPU customers can shred documents for free, while others will be charged $3. Customers are limited to three boxes or bags, and items like paper clips and binder clips are not allowed.
