BRANCH COUNTY, (WTVB)- Union City and Bronson Fire Departments will host community events as part of Fire Prevention Week.
This Saturday Union City will host Fire Safety Day in the fire station parking lot from 9:00a.m. until 2:00p.m.
The day will feature a variety of activities including of course fire trucks, a smoke trailer, book mobile food truck and more. Kids with the assistance of a firefighter will also get to try their hand a spraying a fire hose.
Bronson Fire will hold a Fire Prevention Week Open House and pizza party on Saturday October 11th, from 4-7 pm. The family friendly event will focus on the fire escape plans taught to children in schools, as well as allow children to meet firefighters and get an up close look at fire trucks.
In Michigan in 2023 125 deaths occurred in 112 fires.
