COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – It was reported to the Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Board of Directors Wednesday that there were 70 electrical outages in the utility’s territory during 2024.
Engineering Manager Andrew Cameron told the board 22 of the outages were caused by vegetation.
Animals and equipment failure accounted for 16 outages apiece.
Vehicle accidents caused six of the outages while four were caused by the weather and one by non-utility construction.
Five of the outages were listed as unknown. Cameron added there have been 49 outages so far in 2025.
