BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The cooler weather has finally arrived but the Pigskin Prophet remains red hot.
“Piggy” went 3-1 in his Branch County high school predictions last week which brings the record for the season up to 19-4.

Overall, the PP is 41-16-1 for the season.

Our Branch County football picks for week seven….
OKEMOS at COLDWATER
The 5-1 Cardinals are riding high thanks to a three game winning streak. They welcome 2-4 Okemos to town on Friday night in a rematch of a game that went down to the wire last year. The Wolves won 21-14 as Coldwater quarterback Dracyn Foster was stopped short of the goal line as time expired. The PP thinks Coldwater will finish the job this week against Okemos, but it will be a nailbiter.
The PP says Coldwater 23, Okemos 21
BRONSON at WHITE PIGEON
A big test for the 5-1 Bronson Vikings on Friday at undefeated White Pigeon. It’s a classic matchup as Bronson’s high powered offense goes up against a stingy White Pigeon defense.
As LeBron James said a few years back, the Chiefs have recorded not two, not three, not four but five shutouts in six games.
The PP would love to pick Bronson in an upset but White Pigeon is primed for a deep playoff run and they just has too many weapons for the upstart Vikings. You have to go with the head over the heart.
The PP says White Pigeon 42, Bronson 21
READING at UNION CITY
It’s the seventh week of the season yet the 4-2 Chargers have only played one home game this season. That will change starting this week as Union City will finish the campaign with three straight games at Alumni Field.
It’s Homecoming for the Chargers on Friday night as the Reading Rangers provide the opposition. There are playoff implications in this Big 8 Conference contest as the Chargers are 21st in Division Seven while the Rangers are 27th in Division Eight.
Reading will be flying high after their 24-16 Victory Bell win over arch rival Quincy last week while the Chargers are looking to bounce back after they were gashed by White Pigeon 36-0.
Union City is looking for their fifth straight win against Reading but it will not be easy. As legendary basketball coach and commentator Al McGuire would have said, “IT WILL BE A WHITE KNUCKLER!!”
The PP says Union City 24, Reading 22
SPRINGPORT AT QUINCY
The Quincy Orioles will try to get back their MOJO back this week but it will not be easy as they’ll host undefeated Springport in a Big 8 Conference game.
After winning their first four games, the Orioles have lost to Union City and Reading. The loss to the Rangers will sting for awhile as Reading kept the Victory Bell for another year.
The Orioles need to get the offense cranked up again after they scored 160 points in the first three games.
Springport has five shutouts this season. Four came on the field while the other came about after Sand Creek forfeited.
The Orioles are hungry and the PP is smelling upset.
The PP says Quincy 27, Springport 24
