EAST LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – One in six women in Michigan admit they used cannabis while they were pregnant.
Michigan State University researchers say there are areas of the state where 25-percent of women say they used the drug when they were pregnant.
The study was done between 2017 and 2023 and used urine testing and self-reported data.
Most of the women were single mothers, had an unwanted pregnancy, had at least one adverse childhood event, and made under $25,000 a year.
Many of them said while they used cannabis, they did not drink when pregnant.
