BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – A change has been made in the format for this week’s crossover games involving the Big 8 Conference and the Southwest 10.
In order to avoid duplicate matchups from earlier this season, conference champions Decatur and Springport will not face each other as originally planned.
Instead, Bronson will travel to Springport to face the undefeated Big 8 champions. The Vikings finished second in the Southwest 10. Their only conference loss was in double overtime to Decatur who went on to win the Southwest 10 championship.
Decatur will play at Union City after the Chargers tied for second in the Big 8.
The original format would have had rematches involving Decatur and Springport, Union City and White Pigeon as well as Sand Creek and Cassopolis.
The crossover matchups are as follows….
BRONSON at Springport (Big 8 Champs)
Decatur (Southwest 10 Champs) at UNION CITY
White Pigeon at Stockbridge
Centreville at Reading
Cassopolis at Maple Valley
Hartford at QUINCY
Comstock at Sand Creek
The two conferences set up the scheduling agreement for the 2025 season
Bronson agreed to play a Southwest 10 schedule this season in football since the Big 8 had eight teams while the Southwest 10 had six.
The Big 8 will be expanding to 10 teams next year.
