COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater City Police say a Coldwater man was booked last night at the Branch County Jail on hit and run charges. According to police, the 32-year old suspect, Ian Joyce, was named in a two count warrant and turned himself in yesterday. A corrections officer at the jail said the warrant listed charges of failure to report an accident and reckless driving.
City police say Branch County 911 Central Dispatch got a call late Friday night October 12, 2018 from a Race Street homeowner who reported that he heard a loud noise at the rear of his house. When the man checked it out, officers say he found his back deck had been damaged and watched as a large dark colored pickup truck sped away from the scene.
Police said their investigation provided the evidence needed to obtain a warrant, which was mailed to Joyce.
Joyce was released Wednesday night on $1,000 bond, with his Branch County District Court arraignment set for November 26th.
