COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Former Branch County Circuit Court Judge Michael Cherry has passed away.
Cherry was the longest serving Circuit Judge in Brach County presiding over more than 25,000 cases in his 24 years on the bench from 1984-until his retirement in 2008.
Cherry was a pioneer of technology in the courtroom. His was one of the first video court rooms in the state of Michigan.
He also served on the Executive Board of Michigan Judges for twenty years and was assigned to the Michigan Court of Appeals on six different occasions.
Cherry was 82-years old.
