STEUBEN COUNTY, IN (WTVB) – An Indiana State Police Trooper in Steuben County heard two loud crashes just before 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, arriving almost immediately to find a three-vehicle collision with heavy damage and injured individuals near US 20 and County Road 20 North.
A preliminary investigation indicates Brittany Bauer of Fort Wayne, driving a 2017 Ford SUV eastbound, crossed the center line and collided head-on with a westbound 2019 Ford Utility truck driven by Joshua Pfeiffer of Columbia City.
Following the initial impact, Pfeiffer’s truck crossed the center line, striking an eastbound 2020 Chevrolet SUV operated by Dmitrii Skidanov of Russia.
Both Bauer and Skidanov were transported to area hospitals in stable condition.
Investigators do not suspect drugs or alcohol were factors, but the investigation is ongoing.
