COLDWATER, MI – The City of Coldwater has officially begun its city-wide leaf and yard waste collection.
In most parts of the city, residents can place their leaves in the roadway, right next to the curb, for pickup. However, special rules apply to certain major roadways such as Marshall Street, Division Street and West Chicago Street.
Leaves on those streets must be placed in the area between the curb and the sidewalk, not in the street itself.
Crews are making their way through the city each day weather permitting to collect leaves raked into the street.
For all other yard waste, including grass clippings and twigs, the city requires it to be placed in paper bags for collection. Plastic bags will not be picked up.
For those who miss curbside pickup or have larger items, they can be taken to the city’s compost site at 45 Industrial Avenue.
