UNION CITY. MI (WTVB) – The Village of Union City has started its annual leaf pickup program, asking residents to rake leaves to the edge of the road but not onto the asphalt to avoid UCPD intervention.
Residents should only place leaves at the curb, as sticks or branches will not be collected and can cause delays.
The Village officials say they operate leaf pickup with one truck covering 18 miles and follow a set rotation. They ask residence to display patience, as calling the office will not speed up collection.
Delays may occur due to emergencies, weather, or equipment issues, with updates provided as they happen. For questions, contact the Village Office at 741-8591 Monday thru Friday , 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m..
