Law enforcement also has some safety tips as families head out for a night of collecting candy.
Ensure that costumes are visible by adding reflective material, a flashlight, or a glow stick. Children should trick-or-treat with a trusted adult or use the buddy system, always walking on sidewalks and looking both ways before crossing a street.
For safety, only approach houses with a front porch light on and never enter a stranger’s home. Adults should inspect all candy before allowing it to be eaten. Lastly, drivers in all communities are urged to slow down and drive with caution, watching for children walking along roadways and sidewalks.
