COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater High School volleyball player Maren DeBeau this week set all-time school record for career digs during Wednesday’s match against Mendon.
A four-year varsity player, team captain, and standout libero, DeBeau surpassed the previous record of 1,479 digs, held by Olivia Foley from 2016 to 2019, she now has 1,533 career digs.
The record-breaking dig took place in front of a home crowd, marking a major highlight in her distinguished high school career.
DeBeau’s performance has consistently put her among the elite volleyball players in the state and the country. According to Max Preps she is currently ranked 183rd in the nation, and 4th in the state of Michigan, and holds the number 1 spot in both Division 1 and the Interstate 8 Conference.
With 569 digs so far this season, she is now pursuing the single-season dig record of 635, set by Keely Gruner in 2007. DeBeau needs just 67 more digs set the record.
DeBeau will continue her academic and athletic career at Alma College after graduation next spring.
