BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Pigskin Prophet went 2-1 last Friday night as the M.H.S.A.A. football playoffs got underway which brought his season record on Branch County high school football predictions to 26-12.

Union City 22, Hanover-Horton 20 (Hanover-Horton won 44-6)
Bronson is the last Branch County team still playing in the M.H.S.A.A. Tournament and they will have a chance Friday night to win a Division Seven District championship at Hanover-Horton.
BRONSON AT HANOVER-HORTON
After starting the season 1-2, Hanover-Horton earned the number one seed in their district and have won seven straight games. The Comets are playing some of their best football of the season at the right time as evidenced in their 44-6 trouncing of Union City last Friday. The Comets victory over the Chargers was Hanover-Horton’s first ever football postseason win.
Both programs have had big turnarounds in the last couple of years. Just two years ago, the Comets went 2-7 while the Vikings were 3-6.
After getting shutout by Springport in the regular season finale, the Vikings got their MOJO back last Friday in their 52-12 gashing of Jonesville at Charles Hilton Field which hosted its first playoff game since 2009.
The Vikings are hard to stop when their offense is clicking on all cylinders like it was last Friday. Don’t overlook the Bronson defense which has allowed only 31 points in the last six games.
Bronson will have to turn in another superlative performance like it did last Friday to beat a very talented Hanover-Horton team on the road. Bronson High School’s trophy case has a lot of trophies from volleyball, basketball, wrestling and bowling. The Pigskin Prophet believes it’s time to add some football hardware.
